Zadar is located at the very center of the Croatian Adriatic coast, only a two-hour flight from London and just an hour away from the center of the EU. Transport connections by land, sea and air makes it a top destination for business tourism development, which constantly records an increase in demand, weather in conference and exhibition traveling, traditional business traveling and meetings or incentive trips, as well as a promotional venue (area in front of the the site Jazine Center was chosen by T-Com Croatia for the promotion of the latest iPhone line of products at the time; Chevrolet has also introduced new line of cars on various locations in Zadar; a distinct European and Worldcup sports gatherings and events, were organized in Zadar). Upon EU accession, Croatia has become an interesting investment area for tourism, trade, the construction of facilities for production of energy from renewable resources, mariculture and organic agricultural production, therefore there is a logical rise in demand for the content of the business tourism. Taxi ranks are at the very exit of the airport building, it is a 10 minute ride to the center of the city and it is priced at approximately €16. There is a regular bus line which connects the centar of the city with the airport, a 15 minute ride at cost of €3.50. It is also possible to arrange transfers with larger passenger vehicles, as well as the possibility of car rental.

Macrolocation



Geographically it belongs to region of the northern Dalmatia. There is an archipelago in front of its coast which counts for 24 bigger islands (the largest of which are Pag, Dugi Otok Vir, Ugljan, Iz and Pasman) and about 300 small islands and reefs, inclusive of the archipelago of Kornati National Park. Zadar region is surrounded by five national parks and three nature reserves.

Zadar Airport has the status of an international airport and is connected to all the major airports in Central Europe, France, Great Britain and Ireland and the Scandinavian countries.

Gaženica port



Finalization of the construction of the new passenger ferry port Gaženica is currently in progress. By building the passenger ferry port of Zadar-Gaženica, with all its internal roads, terminal buildings, waiting areas for the cars and with piers up to 15 meters depth, conditions will be met for simultaneous embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and cars and this with: six ferries for local transfers, 50-150meters in length, three three ships on international voyages, of 150-200 meters in lenght and three cruisers 250-400 meters in lenght as well as the ability to accept the RO-RO ships on the the same piers.

Road connections



City of Zadar, Gaženica and Zadar Airport are have a quick access to the motorway A1 which connects South of Croatia with inland and Zagreb junction provides a fastest road connection with the rest of the Europe. Zadar region has six border crossings:

Climate characteristics




Zadar County is specific even in its climate. In one region you canexperience three different types of climate, mediteranean climate on the coast and the islands with up to 2550 sunny hours a year, continental climate in the hinterland and the winter climate in the area of Velebit.

Zadar County records an annual average of 350 days suitable for sailing, which makes it especially suitable zone for development the nautical tourism. Currently there are 12 marinas operating throughout the year, two of which are right in the city and one in the suburbs near the Gazenica Port and 5 minutes ride from the Zadar Airport.

History and culture



The city of Zadar has been living its settlement life for three milleniums now. The first written mention was recorded in the 4th century BC , and the material evidences in the 9th century BC. Liburni tribe holds a titule of its first inhabitants and its first status as a town it receives when conquered by Romans. In early 7th century Zadar became the capital of Dalmatia and remained as such until 1918. Throughout its history it had always been a very busy, cultural and trade center and in more recent times a major tourist destination. Considering its location, transport links, cultural and historical sights and the natural beauty, the area of the Zadar County represents a remarkable development potential.
